Spotlight Art Installation
Spotlight was a interactive robotic art installation that my two partners and I presented at Carnegie Mellon's Hunt Library. I was responsible for the design and fabrication of the central spotlight robot as well as the control and mo-cap sensing software architecture. Below is a link to the robot in operation.
The robot used motion-tracking cameras mounted around the room and retro-reflectors built into each guest's hat to track the most "interesting" thing in the room. When the guests weren't moving quickly, the Spotlight would watch the other 3 "robots" in the room, but if a guest moved too quickly or made too much noise the Spotlight would track them until their velocity was less than the threshold or someone else started moving more quickly.
